Welcome to BLUEWAVEPROJECT.ORG

BLUEWAVE PROJECT is a temporary environmental art installation, painting a line in sea side communities where the water level may be in one hundred years if we do nothing about global warming.

We are using fabric and/or chalk paint that washes away after a rainstorm or two. This is because we are interested in cultural treasures, churches, museums, the city streets...the very things that makes the community special. We do not want to damage or deface these treasures only to let the people imagine what seems impossible. Unless we care and act now, the water will rise.

The project is designed to be a collaboration with artists and educators anywhere in the world. By contacting us we can provide the tools to properly access your site and paint a temporary wave marking the future water level. We expect this wave to be different in each community as a reflection of the culture and creativity of the artists and their collaborators. We are fund raising in each community and internationally to assure the tools to be available in the poorest communities as well the very ones most affected by global warming.

The role of the artist in the community has always been to make real the unimaginable. From the churches of Europe to the Buddhist temples of Asia, the artist with stone and paint and now sound and digital image has shared the sublime...communicated a culture. This project is personal the canvas we paint is our own community. It is universal as the canvas is our earth. We welcome your participation in this art installation we are looking for sites, funding and collabrators...noone is too young or too old to help. We can imagine the unimaginable and change the future.
